Call for Papers
Current Musicology, announces the publication of a special
double issue to commemorate our fortieth anniversary. We invite submissions
exploring the music, composers, performers, and scholarship of 1965,
the year of our founding. Some possible topics include:
The popular music of 1965;
The musical events and premieres of 1965;
The film soundtracks and musicals of 1965;
The state of jazz in 1965;
The impact of current events (i.e. the Vietnam War, the assassination
of Malcolm X) on composition and performance;
The state of musicology in 1965, as represented in music journals
and other major publications.
We also welcome submissions exploring the music and composers of 1865,
1765, and 1665.
The deadline for submitting articles is July 1, 2005. Articles
may be submitted via e-mail or by mail to:

Submission
Guidelines
We welcome submissions from any scholar actively engaged in music
research. In keeping with the original mission of Current Musicology,
we encourage scholars in the first stages of their academic careers
to submit work for consideration. Submissions should be 1530
pages in length (approximately 3,500 to 9.000 words) double-spaced,
including musical examples, and should be accompanied by:
A cover letter including your current mailing and e-mail addresses;
A 250-word abstract of your article;
Three copies of your manuscript.
Because we review submissions anonymously, we ask you to remove your
name and any other identifying information from the manuscript. Please
refer also to our general guidelines
for submitting manuscripts to the journal. Manuscripts will not be
returned.
